She loved him. He would tell her what is right for her. Sometimes she would disagree. In lonely nights when she would cry alone, he would see her, but just look away. She didn't mind that.
He knew what he was doing and she liked him for that. He was always so sure. Always. It made it so difficult to say no to him.
For her he was that strong superhero who would make everything right. She knew he meant well. He was her rock.

He was like the moon and she was like the ocean. When she would follow his discipline, they conquered mountains. As he was skill and she was courage. When he gave in to her passion, beautiful melodies were made. As she was art and he was direction.
They never fought. They disagreed. They understood each other. They let the other be. Come what may, they were always there for each other.
Such was the relationship of the two that when one died, the other couldn't live for long.

Ramayana revealed

Finally gathered the courage to say, “I.Do.NOT.Like.Ramayana”. I am really ashamed of myself that it took me so long to acknowledge it and confess it to myself. Was it the fear of God? Was it the fear of every belief I hold falling apart? The truth is that not acknowledging was exactly the antithesis of my second fear. It is only ironic that I let forgo my beliefs to protect them from falling apart.

Ramayana is a beautiful story no doubt, but not just because of the lifting of the mountain by Hanuman or the Vanara Sena building a bridge by floating rocks branded “Ram” but because of its ending. Yes, the ending which most of us either conveniently overlook and don’t talk about or rationalize it with (use a diplomatic word) weird explanations. Yes I am talking about the *wait for it* Agni *keep waiting* pareeksha yes Agnipareeksha.

If you think so much build up for such small detail then I would only like to give you one advice ‘go, reevaluate your life’ You may still be in denial of some major things. One thing I have learnt the hard way is that it’s always better know if the (Schrodinger’s) cat is dead or alive. The longer you wait to open the box, more is the time you are wasting.

If you are in Rama’s time and have great respect for him and he is yet to demand Agnipareeksha or if you were following Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana on TV and the electricity went out just before the Agnipareeksha scene and thus you have great respect for Rama then it’s fine and you are completely normal. But, if you have the same respect for the man/ character knowing fully well what he did (even though it is different from your beliefs), knowing fully well that Sita had living a lie for all these years, then there is definitely something wrong with you. Because no, it is not “difference of opinion”. When the box was finally opened, the cat was long dead and stinking.

It only takes one moment to lose all respect for a person. If the moment has to come, it better come sooner than later.

The point is, according to me people, for ages, have interpreted the Ramayana wrong. It was meant to be a suspense thriller where in the end the protagonist turns out to be the bad guy but people take it as a melodramatic farce with no development of character.

Man : the glory, jest, and riddle of the World
Fact: Humans are animals.
Fact: Humans can think.
I often wonder as to why humans don't behave like other animals? Why are humans encouraged not to behave as animals? One of my theories states that other animals are either highly evolved species or agents sent by aliens, who are observing us to see how the notion of thinking can change the course of evolution in a species.
Humans are allowed choose to be
1. homosexual/heterosexual
2. monogamous/polygamous
3. herbivorous/omnivorous
4. diurnal/nocturnal(although highly discouraged by the progenitors)
The funny part is that scientists are conducting experiments on lab rats to see if sexuality is predetermined or not.
Humans are encouraged to
1. Not be shallow (general standards of beauty are markers of health and fertility (not talking about colour or dressing sense))
2. Protect the rights of all fellow humans (against survival of the fittest)
3. To get themselves vaccinated
4. To wear clothes (no obscenity intended)
5. To use birth control
An explanation of part 2 could be that Kindness is a more evolved trait than intelligence and is more sought after by women as it gives them a sense of security and the part 5 could be to minimize the torture due to population on Mother Earth.
Why has intelligence not evolved out yet?
A Conspiracy Theory: In order to mate with the less intelligent, the more intelligent people decided to use methods of treachery and deceit and made the innocent believe that their offspring will lead a better life being more intelligent.
Why have humans not evolved out yet (in other words why people have kids)?
1. Adult Human Beings want to be kids (ignorant, carefree and blissful) again and it is not possible by any known means. So, they have kids to be able relive those moments (sometimes more literally than figuratively like using kids as an excuse to get on a mini train meant for toddlers).
2. The bad parents: they are frustrated souls who have been yelled at all their lives and have waited desperately to become a parent and be able to yell at somebody.
3. Females produce high amounts of oxytocin in their bodies which are interpreted as ‘Motherly feelings’ by the brain.
4. Some (sometimes both the husband and wife) assume that their spouse wants kids.
5. Some think their genes are a rare mutation which needs to be protected and the species should not be deprived of the gift of their genes.
6. Others think it is upon them to protect the human race from extinction.
Potential fate of humans because of all the thinking they do (also possible explanations of this form of life on our planet)
1. They would destroy the planet, colonize another planet and deprive it of all the resources and then hop on to another planet and repeat the same process.
2. The IQ of machines with artificially created Intelligence will exceed that of humans and humans will gradually evolve out or would integrate with the machines to form humachines.
3. Humans would realize that all we can actually do is observe patterns in nature and base our theories on them and that there is no true unrestricted form of intelligence we seek and infer that our existence is pointless and die.
4. To make us genetically immune to diseases we will devise a mechanism to inject genes from all existing species to genetically modify us to giant cockroaches (cockroaches have not evolved from thousands of years)
I guess, faith and ignorance will lead to a more stable world and only the truly intelligent can appreciate this.

What in hell is censor board doing?

I have not seen this movie but I certainly have heard about the brutality shown in the movie Shaitan. As its tagline says ‘there is a demon in every person’, are you kidding me? You mean to say we should empathise with psychopaths? I mean when normal people say that there is no black or white it only means that some people are selfish or not exactly fair, you cannot blame them for that. But promoting murder by almost saying, “Try it, it is fun” or “if you haven’t killed anyone what’s the point of living” is not acceptable by any standard and is morally and ethically wrong.

How? And I say how on Earth did this movie pass the censor board? Are they blind? That too with U/A rating…U/A RATING????? What do you want to ensure, that the movie and its message are imbibed in the mind of growing kids during the formative years of their life?

I mean I watch Dexter, the series about a compulsive killer, and I think even it has a lesser potentially bad influence on people’s minds. As if people are not justifying their bad deeds by stupid and shameless logic already, you had to make a movie stating “whatever you do is fine, illegal, criminal, anything. Luck is random and you may get away with it.”

Thanks to the pedestrian acting of the actors that the movie did not make a mark. Else I would not bet on the fact that it would not have given birth to a couple of murderers.

Trivia: there was a scene in the movie ‘Hello’ where a character asks another character to bring a condom before they engage in sex. This statement was asked to remove from the movie by the censor board.

What do you want, more population which can turn into offenders?

This is the present scene. As a child I had seen this movie ‘Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat’. It always used to haunt me. I could not figure why, perhaps my thoughts were not well developed, but I tried to remember the story and I realized it’s about a woman who gets raped by a man and asks for “justice” in the court by asking that man to marry her…and NOoooo.. this is not it.. this is just before intermission.. rest of the story revolves around how everyone in the rapist’s extended family treats her badly. And, by the way, this movie was supposed to be feministic.

I mean what worse could they show the girl gets raped and she marries the rapist to reclaim her pride in the society? AND she is a feminist.

This movie promoted gutter mentality in people, that if a woman is raped she is no more subject to any respect unless she MARRIES the guy who haunts her.

The censor boards had no qualms about passing this movie but saying the word condom was somehow unacceptable to it.

And let me assure you, this is not an isolated case, I cannot remember the names but there have been a few other movies on similar lines.

Thanks to ‘Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai’ a movie in which it has been shown that it is wrong that people make a girl marry the person who raped her, I had a sigh of relief when I saw this movie, that it is not a socially accepted norm and is considered disgusting by someone other than me. I distinctly remember the long monologue by Anil Kapoor where he detests such attitude.

In conclusion, I would like to say to the censor board and to everybody else who is a hypocrite: stop being one. There is no excuse for it.

Story

A few years back one of my classes was cancelled. Me and my friends were sitting in class, each minding his/her own business.

Me:(breaking the partial silence) I want to tell you guys something. But don't think I am crazy.

A: We already do.

Me: Good point.

B: Tell us now.

Me: Ya.You know I had this strange dream last night, where I was running late to reach someplace and this sexy lifeguard, who was a complete stranger, helped me reach there.

C: Big deal.

Me: No he also did me other favours.

B: *cough*

Me: No, not those kind.

C: Then?

Me: I mean I had a deadline to reach this astronomy club and they would not let me enter if I did not get there in time. He worked there so he knew how I had a shot. He played dirty to get me in.

A: Into an ASTRONOMY CLUB? Really? And why on Earth will they have stringent deadlines?

C: And what business did a lifeguard have in an astronomy club?

B: It was a dream people!

Me: No no.. Everything was logically consistent. They were flying us to some country, they had not decided yet but probably somewhere in South America.

C: For a conference or something? Wouldn't they know the venue?

Me: Nah, not a conference they were taking us to launching pads to launch us into space. Different countries were doing it at the time and they were to fly us to wherever they found vacancy. The club also taught us diving and swiming to simulate outer space conditions.

C: That explains the life guard.

Me: Yes.But you guys are missing the point here, it was strange, we had never met before and he risked his job to get me in even though it was clearly my mistake.

A: Wait, that's the part you found strange?

Me: Ya

C: Are you saying that..

Me: Thank you people for not breaking the flow of the narration.

C: But you..

B: Shhhh..Ok ok.. Go on

Me: Thank you. So I was running late and I lost my way and I asked a random guy if he knew the way and this very sexy lifeguard in a bermuda and a shirt with the club's name ,astronomy club, on it appeared out of nowhere and asked me to follow him and started running. I did exactly that. After a few minutes I checked my watch and realized I would never make it in time. We reached this building in which the club was situated on the top floor. When I told him about my concerns he asked me to shut up and climb the stairs. He stayed back.

After a couple of minutes I reached the top floor and there I met a woman who asked me to follow her. She gave me a fake boarding pass and asked me to enter directly without the security check. I had the boarding pass but no ticket. I showed it at the entrance.

The man at the entrance said something and I could not decipher it. I was like 'eh?'. Then he said "Miss Sagarika Ghosh, you know no Bengali?" I turned around and saw that everyone having a ticket showed their ticket along with the boarding pass. Although not mandatory, showing the ticket was customary. That must have made the guard suspicious. While I was looking around I happened to see the woman who had given me the Boarding pass. She gave me a signal and I ran as fast as I could from there before they put me in jail.

I waited downstairs and she joined me. I asked her why the chaos and why was she doing that for me and how did she know me. She told me her coworker Brian had asked her to do so. Then I said, "this? Why in the World would you get yourself into so much trouble for me." She started crying. She said, "As if I wanted to."

I was all arms and legs not able to grasp the situation with a crying woman in front of me.

She started speaking while still weeping. She said, "He asked me to do it. He said, "a woman will come upstairs in 5 minutes. You take the elevator, make a boarding pass with the name 'Sagarika Ghosh' and guide her to the plane." When I refused he pressed my hand against the table so hard that I could hardly bear the pain."

" I have seen him around for years now and not once have I seen him misbehave with anyone, and today he.." And she started weeping again.

We got talking and I really liked her. We even went to have icecream later. But as much as I liked her or sympathised with her for what happened, I could still not understand why that guy did that. His method was awful, no doubt.

A: that is it?

Me: Ya. Then I woke up. But still thinking of it.

B: You don't even know for sure if Brian was the lifeguard.

PS - I have realized using actual Name initials is a dead give away.

New Year 2011 eve party

PROLOGUE

I spent the New Year eve at the customary party in my society community centre.

I entered and This Uncle (Let’s call him X.) was dancing like what can only be described by a video of him. But to keep his identity anonymous I have made this humanoid animation capturing his moves.

The people of my building make all New Year celebrations, well, memorable.

WHATEVER THE MIDDLE PART IS CALLED

As thankful as I was that they did not sing ‘kandi pow’(also known as ‘soni de nakhre sone lagde’) in chorus with Bhajhan instruments in the background, Men correcting each other’s ‘sur’ while singing and Women cribbing later on about how the fellow free spirited women’s absence or low attendance in the practice sessions ruined the surreal experience of chanting kaindi pow in chorus, I must say, there was other stuff.

The organisers of the party had asked me to make a mix cd of songs. After 24 hours of work, keeping everyone’s taste in mind, I prepared

My list

And this is what was finally played

Their list

1. Munni Badnaam hui

2. Munni Badnaam hui

3. Sheila ki jaawaa….

(X comes shouting)

X:”Munni ko badnaam karo”

Everyone: Munni! Munni!

Me: (Munni ke bacche)

My Dad could actually not figure which language Sheila ki jawani is sung, as they would not let it go beyond..”I know you like me..bu..”

And

4. Munni all the way

And the worst part is, their cd player was sequential access and we had to fast forward all songs to get back to Munni and everyone became hyper and impatient in its absence.

I mean seriously, while I was making my mix cd, I thought what will the men do in these songs. All the men were dancing and women were standing and clapping (partially because X had stolen the show and all eyes were on him).

I would actually prefer any other the party I have ever attended, even the one where the room started to shake as the guests started dancing (or was it just loud music?).

Hosts: Don’t worry, it happens often. The room was not a part of the building initially and was attached only later on without any foundation like a suspension bridge.

Me: (well, that is a relief)

I probably liked this one because it was funny to see how everyone had put on a brave face to be polite to the hosts. In all fairness, the hosts did have to pay back more than they had bargained for, by saying “lovely! Lovely!” and “so useful!” to the gifts presented by the overexcited guest who made them open her presents there and then (no exaggeration: she even made them click pictures).

Why was I bored at this party?

1. Topic of conversation

A, B, C, and other capital letters are acquaintances and have no other choice but to be there

A: It’s cold, right?

B: I am feeling warm. May be it’s my new jacket.(yay! my bit is done. Now I don’t need to talk for the rest of the night and won’t be held responsible for any awkward silence.)

C: It’s so much colder outside. The heaters are doing their job well here, and it’s a closed place the CO2 keeping it warm.Blah Blah..*Greenhouse effect*..blah blah..*Global Warming*..Blah Blah.

D: How is college going?

E: Fine. You know, today, I caught a fly with chopsticks :D (least appreciated and generally considered eccentric or awkward).

2. Conversations aimed at you

Women telling me “You have grown thin. Start eating fattening things”. Even if I give them the benefit of doubt that they are “genuinely concerned”, it is rude. I don’t go around pointing out to people how fat they are. This is where I fail to understand social protocol. No really, if it were consistent, the conversation would go something like

Fat Woman: you are thin.

Me: You are appropriately named.

I mean, all animals of a species have the same built..but humans have evolved into different shapes and sizes to generate topics of conversation for tea parties and weddings.

3. Munni badnaam hui:

When this song is played if you are not standing or highly drunk then it will ‘lull’ you to sleep. The beat throughout the song is so consistent. 2 to 3 reruns should be enough for an insomniac of the highest order, but, don’t overdo it as it may lead to nightmares.

EPILOGUE

It was already 12, but, since the people did not get to countdown in chorus ten seconds before 12 (as they were high on Munni and lost track of time)they counted down anyway.

The coup de grace moment

Speech by the President of the Society

Him: Blah Blah..*Grand Success.*Blah blah.*3 cheers*

X:Hip Hip

X:Hurray

X:Hip Hip

X:Hurray

X:Hip Hip

X:Hurray

PS-as you must have figured by now, I did not make the video. But, Discovery guys, feel free to sue me. I don’t mind a tiny lawsuit to meet you guys.

The fear of fairness

I had realized pretty early in my life that the World is not fair. It was in sixth standard and my friend was sad that she worked hard for a test and did not get good marks and she said it's not fair and that 'we' had worked hard for it.I did not very good marks either and nodded along, but in my heart I knew that she was correct and I had in fact not worked so hard for the test. What she said got me thinking and I knew she was right and the World is not fair but it generally worked in my favor or so I thought.

Today our marks for a sem were declared and it has been brought up that the marking was unfair. Our class was given way too less marks than the other section of the same branch. Many students have decided to approach the authorities for re evaluation.

There were a number of things that crossed my mind

What if my marks reduce further

What if the teachers get enraged and give us bad marks in the future

What if the companies who come to the campus do not place us fearing we will report them in a similar manner

I was astounded by the corruptness of my thoughts

I did not want the World or the System to be fair. I just wanted more marks.

Anyone who is reading this has an internet connection and can understand english placing him/her above the poverty line. There are people below it. The World is not fair. You know it. But do we want it to be fair?

I don't have a clear conscience to fight. Should I?

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

I am very selective while making friends and don’t bother to keep in touch either. So, I have very few friends at all points in my life. Now, I have realized that all my friends (except for my immediate circle in college) are either inaccessible (I mean they live somewhere near ‘The Cape of good hope’) or are loners.

Most importantly we don’t have similar eating habits, i.e., I have them and they don’t.

When we step into restaurant: the first words that come out of their mouth

1. I only eat homemade food.

2. I am counting calories (the reason I get a fit every time one of my friends gains a little holiday weight).

3. I am full.

4. I am boycotting the food processing industry for their overpriced rates and tests on animals.

5. I have a fast (dude, was this the only day you could think of to hang out with friends).

6. Friend: (looking at the menu*) hmmm

(half an hour later)

Me: (banging my head against the table) anything?

Friend: let’s go somewhere else**

7. I don’t eat (true story).

There are others like perpetual stomach ailments, germ phobia, and chronic indecisiveness.

This was until a week ago.

Present day

I met an old friend X..she was distressed and we met after a long time (a common friend also joined us). Although X knew what she wanted and there was nothing we had to do, by the end of the day I knew she felt better (and so did we). Just being around the people you love without the fear of being judged is in itself comforting.

The fact remains that I have a countable (by a 4 year old) number of friends (inaccessible and/or loners), but it is also true that they are the people who are special to me (and hopefully I am special to them) and that’s what matters.

In a nutshell, I used to think that the soundtrack of my social life was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY3kqRRzJP0 and then I realized that it is in fact http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sULsXdDqOBo&feature=related

*contemplating laws of nature, ventilation, sunlight, background track and the crowd to calculate the approximate amount of time for which all the people in the restaurant can survive without getting bored in case we get trapped due to some natural disaster and also the chances of survival in case of a stampede

**probably because the estimate of the time calculated in * turns out to be less than the approximate amount of time for rescue to get there

Dooba Dooba

Today, I was bored sitting at home and doing nothing so I decided to go for a walk.Luckily, after a considerable amount of procrastination, yesterday, I charged(the battery of) my mp3 (yes, I am that lazy) and revamped my playlist. For some strange reason I did not remove the song 'Dooba Dooba'.
In the next scene, I was walking in my society courtyard listening to songs and then this song started playing, instinctively, I changed the song (I always did this whenever this song was played for no apparent reason).
I went back to the song trying to contemplate why I kept this song when I never listen to it.I thought it may be because when Mohit Chauhan (the singer of this song) came to our college and sang this song I was utterly delighted, only to realise shortly afterwards that this song was one of the disappointments that day and that I had even commented that the 'Dooba Dooba' guy of our college could have done a better job than him.
It was then that it dawned upon me, it was the 'Dooba Dooba' guy due to whom the song made it to my list in the first place.

Flashback
(two years ago)

I had just joined college and the much awaited (in a way) freshers party was to take place in the evening. All my friends and I got ready and left for the event. On our way to the Auditorium we heard a beautiful melodious baritone voice of a guy singing this song 'Dooba Dooba'.
While climbing up the stairs, the first thing that crossed our minds was that the Freshers' Party had started and someone was performing. Then I reasoned that had it been so, this would have been the showstopper performance and would have been placed towards the end of the performances. As we climbed the voice grew clearer. It had become clear now that it was just a recorded song playing.
And then came the point in my life when my blind faith in common sense ceased to exist.
There stood this guy on the stairs, facing away from me, singing this song without a mic and the only instrument that was playing was a guitar. The guitarist was sitting on the stairs facing him.I wanted him to turn around so bad and stood there in anticipation, not caring that the expression on the guitarist's face was like 'excuse me, can't we get any kind of privacy even on the staircase of a public college?' My friends noticed that I was transfixed and took me to the auditorium saying that he was not practicing for nothing and would obviously perform in the freshers (at that time we did not have any notion of the World beyond freshers' party).
As can be expected he did not feature in the Freshers' Party.I had lost all hopes of seeing his face in this lifetime until one day

(six months ago)

It was the second day of our annual cultural fest.I was in the ground floor of a Computer Science Department when I heard this voice.I was in the middle of something(can't remember what but definitely of the magnitude of balancing delicate glassware on my head) so I could not sprint immediately. As soon as I was done I ran all across the building following this acoustic like Paro in Devdas.Sadly, it ended like Devdas, he was gone by the time I got there.

(present day)

I smiled and disappeared into the dark listening to the close second to the melody that was.

Driving a Car

As a female Homo Sapien I wonder if I have a license to kill
Anyway, I am capable of it, so you better do a drill
I drive my way to work
but more of it is required on the way
I suck with gears 1 through 5 and ya of course the reverse
I fear the pedestrians and trucks alike
the former are like toddlers and the latter like bullies and brats
the heavy traffic areas are like a stampede without a rime or reason
on the redlights the frustrated souls have mercy to spare none
consider yourself lucky if you make it alive without damaging your eardrum
Its like Murphy's law all the time
and for me guerilla warfare, ya, that is how I would put it
even a nonexistent wall appears when you least expect it
may be the whole universe is conspiring to transform me into the Hulk
but according to Occam's Razor my only super power , for now, is to sulk

P.S. The blog entry may be a desperate attempt to not lose its readers, the sudden two fold increase in the number of readers in the previous week may have led to the same. But the quality of the entries would be taken care of henceforth.

The Other Day

A little background:

We are a group of 6 friends. One of us left our college after the first year to follow her dreams. Let us call her S. Another important member of the tale and our group is Y.

So..

Our friend S had come to our college to meet us. After a few hours, she said her Ex had offered her a ride back. Y declared “We are meeting him”.

A few minutes and a few ‘dog’ jokes later we were on our way to the ‘hang out place’.. Lets call it HOP. So, we reached HOP. She went up to some point in order to escort him to HOP because ,supposedly, he could not locate it. Lame! Considering he lives within 1 Km radius of HOP.

He walked in with her.

I had nothing particularly against this guy, but I saw it as a perfect opportunity for me to conduct an experiment.

· All the people about to be around him hated him at some level.

· He was in a company which could eat him alive even if he raised his volume.

· I had no association with him whatsoever and did not have to see his face again.

· It was a kind of a challenge considering he would try to look like a stud (for obvious reasons).

· I always thought I was of the Caucasian race. But, I am not. He was.

· He said he wanted to smoke hukkah as soon as he entered.

· I wanted to see whether or not I could behave in a manner I generally don’t. I wanted to see if I could act snobbish.

She introduced him to us and the verdict was out, I could not act snobbish. I was all arms and legs. It was time for Plan B : Don’t look stupid.

He went out for a few minutes, perhaps catching up with his hukkah when S confided in us that he was getting into drugs and thus she needed to go with him and talk to him during that period. I told her it was neither her choice nor her responsibility.

When she was about to leave everybody insisted she stayed in the hostel for the night. To which I said to her “you are an adult and you have to make your own choices” and gave her ‘the look’.

To which he said “that was.. that was uncalled for” smiling all the while.

I know what I said was a little eccentric but if I had not taken up the pressure of being a snob and had not made myself nervous in the process.. I could have shot back with a

“Smile as much as you can dear because you won’t be able to do that when you would be coughing blood out of your lungs.”

Or a

“Why don’t you get your hukka so that we don’t have to encrypt our conversation and can talk in ‘a called for’ manner. Don’t mess with me.”

Or a

“You do realise we outnumber you, right?”

Or even a simple honest

“It is not. You will learn. In due time. ”

But.. I did not. I did not respond. Thankfully everybody was still busy convincing S to stay and I was out of focus.

But he did not get to be the snob either, thanks to Y. At one point of time.. she said “stop bothering her more” and at another “can’t even say that it was nice to meet you ” Snap!

So finally I realised that

1. I am biologically programmed not be a snob (while(Somisetty && World) { Somisetty != snob;})

2. Even when a guy (most of them) does not want a girl in his life he would still ensure that he features in the girl’s priority list.

3. And also that we had left our friend alone with a drug-addict ex on a bike.

"My" Brother Sandeep

When I was young, I used to think that celebrating Raksha Bandhan was redundant practice. It was obvious that a brother has to take care of his sister.

I remember this incident, way back, when we were kids, I used to follow my brother around everywhere. One day he had plans to play cricket with his friends and he had warned me beforehand that if I wanted to leave in the middle of the match I would have to go back alone. But, because I was stubborn so I “had to” accompany him anyway. After a while, as expected, I got bored. He said, “go on your own!”. I was heartbroken and again, because I was stubborn I “had to” leave. I reached my place and before entering my house I looked back, and there he was, a few feet away, stealthily getting down the stairs J

Now I know why I thought so.

Everybody in school knew him as S.Sandeep and now people know him by all these different names..Sandeep,Sandy, Shetty, Somisetty, Marketing(which is funny now because he has chosen finance). When I tell people he is my brother..People go.."really?!" “siblings!?”..and I choose to believe that it is not due to the stark contrast in our IQs. There are many School- toppers-cum-geniuses around but what sets him apart is the fact that he is charismatic and yet gives utmost priority to his family and friends.

Thanks for being the best Brother a person can have, and also the warmest, wittiest, brilliantest and Awesomest person in the whole whole World!!

May you always be Happy
Happy Birthday :-)
